And There He Goes: Gold Coast Local Buried by 'Some Serious Foam'

Severe storm warnings were in place along Australia’s east coast on December 14, with the Bureau of Meteorology saying damaging winds could be expected from Queensland to New South Wales.

One side effect of the churn could be seen at beaches, where thick sea foam was reported.

Todd Hyland recorded some of the fun to be had at Froggy Beach, in the Gold Coast, where gale warnings were in place.

Hyland said he quickly began recording when he saw “a larger wave come in”. He was in time to capture this shot of the wave of foam briefly engulfing a “local lad” he identified as Jedd. Credit: Todd Hyland via Storyful
