Early voters breaking records in Maryland
Early voting for the general election is proving to be a record-breaker in Maryland. Every county in the state, and the state as a whole, surpassed day one turnout totals from the last presidential election. As of 4:45 p.m. Friday, an estimated 219,376 voters have cast ballots statewide over the first two days of early voting. Early-voting turnout on the first day in Maryland set new records in nearly every column this year. Statewide, 122,880 registered voters cast ballots on Thursday, a 57 percent jump from day one in 2012, setting a new single-day early-voting record in Maryland.
